Kiss your deposit GOODBYE!!

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2008
Evergreen apartments can be nice, depending on the building you live in, but the walls are super thin and you hear all of your neighbors and every word they say. The lighting is horrible and pest control comes in like they live there. They always talked about my pictures AND they made fun of my christmas tree to my face last year, because it was a small one. The only helpful person in the office is Savannah, who is the young one. The rest are rude and very moody!! I WOULD NOT LIVE HERE EVER AGAIN... PLEASE RECONSIDER if you are planning on moving here. Most of the grounds keepers are nice, and even the pest control men are nice, but kinda nosey. The neighbors are always loud!! They party all hours of the night. I lived in three different buildings and all three had loud partiers next door.
I lived in Evergreen Apartments 3 different times, only as a last resort each time. I lived there for a year the first time, and only got back half of my depost. They claimed that my roommate had lived there for 3 years, so they needed to replace the carpet. The carpet was perfectly fine when we moved out, there were no stains and it looked as good when we moved out as when we moved in. They were also remodeling every apartment, so they were replacing the carpet anyway, it was just an excuse to keep half of both of our deposits. They also claimed they had to clean, but we completely scrubbed that place down when we moved out so they didn't have to clean anything.
I lived at the second apartment I moved into (only because a roommate fell through at another place) for two years. I got married, so my husband and I decided to move into a townhouse. The only one we could find available was Evergreen, of course. When I moved out of the one bedroom, to the townhouse we found a can a paint that had been left behind at the TH. So we painted the apartment I was moving out of. We patched all the nail holes and painted every scratch. The walls were perfect. But of course Evergreen charged me a $90 painting fee. I'd really like to know what they had to paint. The place was spotless. I cleaned it 3 times before I moved out. I talked to one of the ground keepers and he told me that Evergreen NEVER gives back someone's full deposit back. SO BEAWARE!
When I moved into the townhouse, it was filthy!!! The cabinets were nasty, and I had to clean them all. There were spices and rice left in them and the smell (of curry) was horrible! I went to clean the tops of the cabinets, and there were black hairs all over the top of them. I could not believe that I signed a contract to live at Evergreen again. I went to Evergreen to tell them about having to clean the place A LOT when I moved in and they told me that they had to pay someone to come in and clean and they guessed they just didn't do it good enough. I was furious! Then after a few nights in the place I walked into the Kitchen only to find roaches on the counter. I let Evergreen know about it, and I can say one good thing about them, they did get rid of them right away. BUT then I had to clean up dead roaches. The apartment had A LOT of spiders too.
My husband and I got a great offer on a house that we couldn't pass up, so we decided to break our lease the Evergreen, after living in the townhouse for 3 months. Of course we had to pay out our last months rent, plus another months rent, plus let our deposit go (which we knew we would) and then we would have to pay cleaning fee's. WELL, we got our letter in the mail today to tell us how much we owe and the amount is $410!! They charged us $65 for cleaning and $345 for PAINTING!!! We only lived there for 3 and a half months and we never even hung pictures up!! There were no marks on the walls or anything. They completely ripped us off for no reason!! So when I called the office to ask why they charged that much, Sandy Banks (the property manager) told me I would have to talk to the owner Charles about it on Monday morning AND THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!
