This is not a bad place to live, the staff is nice and they do try and help. The owners need to update the windows and insulate the building better. The security officer can be ill at times and I'm sure he had a bad day too. I think that the rules should apply to him and his family also and not just to the other tenants. I'm sure that the office hasn't heard about the things his son got caught with not so long ago in their apartment. But enough said, yes I would recommend these apartments and the office staff does try and resolve your problems if you give them a chance. The times are bad economically and there may not be as much money to go around as there has been in the past to do updates, but some of these apartments have been updated and all rent is going up including these, but I will say compared to some of the newer apartments there needs to be some up grades in the laundry rooms, bathtubs, doors, windows, etc. But they are nice and reasonable compared to some in this area. Most all of your neighbors are kind and courteous and sometimes the pet policy can be annoying if you don't like stepping in pet poop, but that can happen anywhere due to owners not being courteous. But I like it here and people sometimes don't give things a chance to improve.
