First, these apartments are VERY old! I grew up in a house close by where you could see them, and I remember one night that one of the buildings caught on fire. The entire building burned to the ground, no firewalls or anything. If you drive to the back of the complex, you'll notice an empty field in between two buildings. That's where it used to be, and they never rebuilt it. There is very little insulation from the noise from your neighbors, either. Fortunately, we had fairly quiet neighbors, so it wasn't too much of a problem. Because the walls were so thin, we did, however, get the pleasure of hearing our next door neighbor everytime that she and her boyfriend had sex. That was a real treat!! YUCK! When we lived there, we lived on the second floor and there was a string of robberies, one of which was our apartment. They climbed up onto the balcony and came in through the sliding glass door. They stole about 5K worth of CDs, and of all things, my microwave. The best that management could do was hold a neighborhood watch meeting. I posted fliers in all of the buildings telling what happened and looking for the thief, but they were quickly removed (probably before I was even finished posting them!). Also, there was a problem child in another building that decided to dump an entire bottle of bleach into my laundry (a full load of hunter green towels) and ruined them all. I was told that they had had numerous problems out of this child and that his parents had been warned repeatedly. So much for the three strike policy! They offered to deduct the replacement amount from my next months rent if I would buy new towels and provide the receipt. That was at least something... Unfortunately, I had to do laundry at a different building because we didn't have a facility in ours. When this happened, I was using the facility attached to the rental office. I preferred that one, because the next closest laundry was in the building next door, which smelled of mildew and had mice. Needless to say, if you live there, be sure you have renters insurance!
Oh, and one last thing... I wouldn't advise using the pool. They never, EVER drain the water and replace it with clean water. It also has a strange odor, much like someone has dumped bleach into it to get rid of the green stuff at the end of winter...
