I have lived at the Trashton for about 10 months and I have to say it is easily the worst place I have ever had to live. Thank god its cheap cause that's the only thing it has going for itself. The management is always friendly but they do NOT do their jobs well...I know this because I am a leasing agent for a very high-class townhome property in the area and know how things look when a leasing office is run properly.
Also the maintenance staff is very friendly...if they bother to come at all, to get even the smallest problem fixed it takes a MINIMUM of 3 phone calls and a letter.
I do not feel particularly safe or unsafe, there are some dimly lit walkways, so I always carry pepperspray with me at night when I come home.
On top of all this we've had tons of problems that take months to resolve. For instance the apartment above us had a leak in tub, so our bathroom had a hole ripped in the ceiling....for 4 months. We called at least once a week this entire time, and I finally caught one of the maintenance guys outside and asked him about it and his response was "I thought they did that already, I'm sorry, I didn't know that hadn't been taken care of!" An interesting response since there are only 3 maint. guys on the property...who did he think did it'
Lastly I will tell you that the class of people who live there are not all to desirable, many of us end up there because we want to be in west knox. but can't afford anything else...but many of the people there are loud, obnoxious, lower class folks who don't understand that not everyone who is within a one mile radius wants to hear you scream for your kids, or just even hear about your day.
