I've lived in Ashton for about 13 months and I strongly recommend NOT living there. There are some positives before I go into negatives
1. Close to West Knox
2. Cheap
3. Parking space
4. Looks nice from outside

Coming to negatives
1. Maintenance: Very very poor maintenance. I see the maintenance guys lazing around the pool but they don't get the time to fix your problems. You just can't get your maintenance requests solved unless they are crucial like your A/c going out in summer kinda thing. If you have a problem such as shower leak which eventually becomes daily annoyance, they don't care to fix it.
2. Management: Management talks very polite and nice but they are lazy and dishonest. The new manager talks so sweet that you might almost believe him. The other management staff ain't too good either in fixing your problems. They tell that they are short on maintenance and stuff but when you see them lazing around the pool, you know that it's a lie.
3. Safety: I definitely did not feel safe. I heard that some guys were stalking some girls. The management did not do anything about it. Also at nights some dudes just drive crazily inside the complex similar to fast and furious. Also there have been several cases of car broken into. The management did not consider it a priority to do anything about it. The property manager "Mike Pursiful" said that it's common and it's more common during christmas. That was his response. Also you can see some mexican dudes prowling around. The ashton does not do criminal check/prior rental check/employment check. All they do is credit check.
4. Noise:You can hear the noise from people walking above you. The hardwood floors creak when you walk. When maintenance guys work on steps or stairs, they just allow the music from thier players to blare.
5. Pets: Pets are cute but they just run around unleashed.

I've had several problems such as leak from above, drain leak on ceiling, bad electricity sockets, creaking floors, leaking shower/tap, and etc. The management did not bother to do anything about it inspite of my repeated requests. Either they are indifferent or lazy or not responsible either of which does not work for me. Probably it's what you pay for. The rent was cheap but now I heard they've hiked it.
