Avoid this place like the plague

I moved in a couple of months ago - Suzie took care of me and she was very nice. The good ends here. I have had several maintenance issues in my apartment and the manager (maryweather) is rude and hateful. Why is it my fault that things don't work properly in the apartment I am paying close to $1000/month for. And that brings me to another point - I am paying $1000/month to live in this ghetto slum with poor parking and miscreant teenage thugs roaming the grounds at all hours of the day - and now they are leasing the same apartment for $799/month. 20% depreciation in 3 months - sounds like they are either desperate or they realized that this place is a toilet and their product is garbage. Paper thin walls that also let smell of the neighbors curry drift in every evening. I have lived in bad apartments before but never for so much money and never with a worse manager. STAY AWAY!!!

Moved in April 08 here are the facts:
Promised newly refurbished apartment. Got an apartment that was painted and the carpet cleaned, not refurbished with new appliances carpet and pain. The molding is all cracked and looks old and cheap, carpet is stain and appliances are not new. Their response well we can cut some of the carpet out of the closet hallway and replace the stained piece. Windows had no locks whatsoever and the windows were to be replaced, 4 months later still same ole windows, maintenance did however come in and put some cheap locks on the windows.
Fire took place in the building I live in due to faulty wiring. Breaker did not kick off like it was supposed to and the fire took out 4 apartments. We were without power and water, when Meriweather Montgomery showed up we asked what we were supposed to do for living arrangements, her response was and I quote "Its a nice night open up a window and go to bed" and left. Then when the matter was pushed she told several tenants that they had a contract with a nearby hotel. Called the hotel she told us to go to and they never heard of Copper Point Apartments and denied any contract. Red cross showed up and tried to help the tenants and told us that the manager was no manager and was totally unprofessional. Finally at 3:30 am the power came back on thanks to maintenance. Oh and by the way there are no firewalls in the attics of these buildings so when a fire starts guess what it can run throughout the whole building with nothing stopping it.
They are always threatening tenants with fines and such for not picking up after their dogs and are on top of making sure everyone has one of their parking permits, look out visitors you will get towed if you stay a day or two visiting without the parking permit. They do not respect your privacy or even acknowledge your rights as a tenant and Meriweather Montgomery is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met.

I live at copper pointe and the reviews I am reading are full of BS. If you have a problem living there then you are nothing but white trash and I don't care what race or color you are. It is the most pleasurable place to live in Knoxville. It is super quite plenty of parking and I don't see any thugs walking around all hours of the day. If you don't like family atmosphere then don't move here or get the hell out. Low intelligent people will ----- and complain about any thing, any time, any where because they can never be happy and anybody that leaves comments like some of the ones I am reading here seem to fit that description. There is no problems with maintenance and the management is very professional. And another thing is this place is not ghetto slum. I hope the jerk who posted that comment has moved away.

The last person who posted must live in a building that actually has parking spots available. New residents need to drive around the buildings at night and on the weekend to get a feel for which buildings have no parking and which have some. Choose your apartment wisely! Also, if you have a dog, think twice about renting here. Residents are not courteous. I would say that more residents do not pick after their dogs, than the ones that do. Management seems to be doing nothing about trying to stop or fine the offenders.
