My husband and I moved here in late September with our two sons and dog. Since that time, there have been several minor problems that you would expect associated with a rental. However, one occasion, the banister broke and caused my husband to fall down the steps. We did not pursue any legal action. It took them several days to fix it. They didn?t seem concerned we had two small children that needed to use the banister for safety. There is a MAJOR problem with water drainage. It comes down the back of our hill onto our driveway. It makes it impossible for our children to play outside b/c there is so much mud. Also...when we let our dog out, he tracks in mounds of mud. We had to have the carpets shampooed twice in four months. The drainage also runs down our driveway. When it hits freezing, the driveway is a sheet of ice. Backing down the 90 degree-angled driveway become treacherous. Recently, my father fell. I asked them to try and do something to fix it. At first they said no. I persisted. They said yes. A month later nothing had been done. Then my husband fell while holding my one-year-old son. They spent the morning in the ER getting a CT scan on my son. When I contacted the corporate office, the response was they couldn?t fix it until the weather got warmer. No one would call us back. I hah to call and INSIST the owner call me back. The owner finally called me back. He was rude. He would not take responsibility for the job not being done. He didn?t understand why there were problems now, since the house was nine years old and they never had any problems. He said he would put sand on the driveway until they could fix the problem. He couldn?t tell me why they didn?t do that earlier, and he couldn?t tell me when it would eventually be fixed. All he could do was make excuses. I had to ask for an apology. Luckily my son is ok. But safety is definitely NOT a concern of theirs. Not to mention common courtesy. Don?t live here for $1,000. Don?t live here for $1
