UPDATE: two years later: 04/08/09: We still love it in Forest Ridge! Some of the more recent reviewers must have been evicted or have a personal grudge against someone who works here. This is a very pleasant, quiet place for families to live. The only problem I've had with a neighbor was promptly resolved by the office staff.
The only maintenance issue we've had was not handled professionally. The smoke detectors in the adjacent vacant unit were all going off at once. Normal noises (music, TV, conversations) cannot be heard through the walls, but several smoke detectors squawking in unison can be! The overnight maintenance technician refused to come out and help; he told me how to handle the problem by myself over the phone. To be fair, he might have come if the problem had been more of an emergency than a nuisance. The noise kept my family up all night until I entered the adjacent unit with a ladder and followed the overnight maintenance technician's directions to disable the alarms. It's kind of funny, in retrospect, but I was angry at the time.

Original review: 04/23/07: Don't be fooled by other users complaining about the sister neighborhood, or about this neighborhood prior to the current management group. Forest Ridge is GREAT! I rented this place without seeing it as part of a transfer from another state. I couldn't be more pleased! The soundproofing is FANTASTIC (I've NEVER heard my neighbors), the amenities are as nice as they seemed on the website, the landscaping is tastefully done and blends in nicely with the gorgeous surroundings, the staff is helpful and courteous, and the entry gates and intruder alarms are a nice touch.
Having only one trash site is a bit inconvenient, but better, I suppose than living near a dumpster.
I live in the new section of the neighborhood. My unit looked brand new when I moved in, with only a few minor cosmetic imperfections. Forest Ridge was built in phases, and the first phase looks, well . . . less nice than the newer phases.
I gave this neighborhood a poor safety rating only because people drive WAY TOO FAST in the neighborhood. This is a huge concern for me, as I'm the mother of a toddler and a pet owner. I saw a truck going at least 50 mph past the playground last night, barely slowing down to go into a blind curve. None of the other parents looked too concerned, so excessive speed may be a problem related to Knoxville, rather that this neighborhood, specifically. As far as general safety is concerned, the grounds are well-lit, gated, etc.

If I worked in the office, would I have been honest about my disappointment with the maintenance staff? You have an agenda of some kind; I do not.

CLARITY works in the office - don't believe the bogus reviews or comments s/he makes. Look for real residents instead. My agends it to get the truth out.
