Lots of Water...in your apartment

Thank the lord I live on the second floor. I've witnessed a huge flood when a pipe in the sprinkler system burst. Four apartments on the first floor were ruined. And this seems to be a repeating problem. Today alone the fire department responded to two pipe bursts. (The maintenance staff took 45 minutes to get here and this was at 4 p.m., not in the middle of the night.) In one apartment that was affected the water was so high it was coming out of the windows. Granted, it's cold here now. But the first time I saw the same thing happen, it wasn't cold at all. And it was colder the past two days then it was today. So I don't think the pipes are reezing. All of the apartments affected were on the first floor, so if you move here, go high!
As to the Fox Lake staff member who wished people would report the noise problems...I don't report the noise above me because the people are really just walking. There's nothing teh staff could do to reduce the noise unless they were willing to put down extra layers of carpet padding or rebuild the floors. I've lived in a lot of apartments and this is by far teh creakiest floor I've ever heard. I know when the people on the third floor get up becuase the creaking wakes me up.
With the floods and the noise, I'd say the construction is shoddy. I signed a one year lease and I won't be renewing. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
