Years at this apartment: 2006-01-01 - 2006-01-01
When I moved back to campus, I had to find an apartment in a hurry and ended up choosing Laurel Court because the internet and cable were included in the bill. Also, the woman who showed them to us was very nice, and I think that also swayed my opinion as well as my mom's. After living there just a little while with my boyfriend, we knew it wasn't the best decision.
First off, the worst thing is my apartment didn't come with a full size refrigerator. The one they showed us did. This was terrible because I cook a lot and it was very hard to fit everything in the TINY fridge. Second, the hot water lasts about 10 minutes. This also was horrible because I am a woman with longer hair, and many times I had to finish my shower in cold water. Sometimes it would run out in even less time, regardless of whether we had even been using the water. Third, the apartment is TINY! My boyfriend and I were paying 500/mo for a miniscule apartment that we couldn't even fit a dresser in our bedroom. we had to keep all our clothes in the one closet. I actually still live there, but I'm leaving in August because they are raising the rent 50 dollars. The bathroom is ------. There is no room at all to keep towels or toilet paper. We had to keep all that in the kitchen. Next, there is no guest parking. That sucks because even if there is one person there that shouldn't be there, and everyone is at their apartment, then you have nowhere to park. It happened to me several times because I work night shift. Unfortunately you have to get someone towed. Last thing, being an apartment complex, you can of course hear the person above you. And honestly, I'm hesitant to say that the apartment is to blame for this, or just the guy upstairs stomping around and dropping ---- all the time. But I could hear that guy so bad! It woke me up at like, 5am several times. I dont' know, though, could've just been the guy.
There are good things about the apartment. One woman on the office staff is extremely nice and great to work with. The carpet and blinds are nice, and we have new windows. Also, it's close to campus. But it just isn't worth the price.
