This apartment complex is absolutely awesome. The landlady Maurie and the repairman Tracy are great people. Maurie runs her apartments a lot differently than most places. She's extremely cooperative. I paid my pet fee, which she allowed for me to pay in increments over a few months, and when I got a new cat she didn't make me pay another pet fee. She insisted that all cats need a friend to play with!
Everything in my apartment worked great. I lived there for 13 months. Once my hot water heater was leaking, which meant it was about to break, and it was replaced quickly. Also, when I first moved in my toilet was very loose and it was fixed very quickly. Later, my ceiling fan stopped working and it was fixed right away. So even though a few things stopped working they were fixed promptly. The apartments all come with washer and dryer rooms, tons of storage, nice windows, and your own security systems as well.
The apartments are built very well. They look and feel brand new. The grounds are gorgeous and are always clean. Thankfully dogs are not allowed on the property so you never have to worry about stepping in dog crap. There are many different types of trees and plants all around the complex, and there is a thick wooded area behind the complex. I never once had a bug or spider in my apartment, no joke! However, there were many times when there would be some weird mutant giant bug outside my window. That was always fun to see!
After your lease runs up, you only have to rent month to month. If you want to pro-rate for half a month or something like that, that can be easily arranged. I always loved Maurie because she was extremely organized. She keeps ac filters in the office for anyone to use for free. She also keeps dvds in the office for you to watch. The workout room is no Rush! gym but it's got two treadmills, some weights and some other equipment, along with cable tv and a cd player. The pool is very nice. It's small and only goes 5 feet but it's open 24 hours a day and is relaxing most of the time. You won't find giant piles of beer cans or loud parties.
This is a very quiet place to live. That's not to say you can't have a good time and invite some people over. One thing you want to be aware of is the tile floor in the kitchen and bathroom is a bit sensitive. If you're stomping around then the people underneath you will hear you. I got a few noise complaints because I was coming home from work around 3-4 am each night and didn't realize my feet were making such noise in the kitchen. The people above me sometimes sounded like elephants rollerblading. But it didn't become a huge problem. Other than the bare floors you'll never hear your neighbors. Speaking of which, you probably won't see them either. This isn't the most social place to live. Even though it's always at full vacancy (because it's so awesome) you won't see people very much. I didn't even see a child until living there about 9 months or something. I thought, "Children live here'!"
I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment with my boyfriend. Excuse me, ex-boyfriend. Living in a 1 bedroom will be rough because it's just not enough room. You will get sick of each other. Especially if one of them is always home because he can't hold a job. Anywho, it's convenient money-wise because you pay $550 a month plus water, sewage, and electric! Also if you want cable you'll have to pay for that as well. This can be expensive and it's much more affordable with two people splitting the cost. It might seem expensive but it is truly worth the great management, the security, the nice apartments, and the pool and exercise room. It's just nice to simply not have to put up with a bunch of crap.
I wish I never had to leave that apartment. I loved it very much and had so many memories there. I would highly recommend it!
