I have lived at Plantation Manor for almost a year and I love it! I think things must have changed a bit since the previous reviews because I've had a very positive experience. I previously paid over $1200 for a townhouse and I love my apartment here much more than the other place. Here are the things I love:
- The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. It is wonderful to have so many trees and there is alot of grassy areas to walk dogs or throw frisbees, etc.
- There is a walking trail near the apartments that is great for running or to just take a walk.
- The square footage is great for the price you pay.
- My neighbors are very friendly and pleasant.
- Any maintenance issues I have had were fixed either that day or the next. Previous reviews complained about maintenance but I see the guys out all the time, they are helpful and nice. The office staff is also great and I really enjoy the monthly newsletters.
- Water is included in the rent and my heating/cooling bills have been reasonable.
Now, there are a few things that could be better:
- The apartments are older so there is a bit of wear on the cabinets, the appliances are not new etc. So if you are looking for the best and finest, you may be let down. However, they are practical and very affordable.
- You do have to watch occasionally where you walk, not everyone picks up after their dogs. On the other hand, they are very pet friendly and there is no weight limit which is rare in Knoxville and since I have a big dog, I appreciate that.
Here is my only complaint: I live on the bottom floor and my upstairs neighbors like to walk around at 2 and 3 AM. The floor boards creak, especially in the bedroom, which I don't really notice until I'm trying to sleep. Thankfully, I work nights so this isn't a problem too often.
I would definitely recommend these apartments if you are want an economical and safe place to live. Check them out!
