i have a very low opinion of steeplechase. i lived there a year, and in that year, the water was cut off or non-functional several times--a very unpleasant morning discovery. the management was completely incompetent, and often unavailable. the buildings were not maintained on the exterior; our 2nd story apartment had unsightly mud stains on the windows that were never cleaned for the duration of our stay. the drainage from our building was completely ineffectual, creating a mudslide across our sidewalk that essentially ruined our carpet. the materials used in the construction of our building were cheap. practically all our drawers didn't open and close easily or fell off the rollers. the wall and door paint used was of the incorrect chemical make-up and easily scratched, even bubbling up and peeling off the door and walls in the bathroom.

steeplechase also kept 95% of our refundable deposit, due to what they termed as "damages." interestingly, when we checked out, we were told by our inspector that we had no charges for our apartment.

this is a horrible place to live! i would discourage anyone considering moving into steeplechase, and suggest they seek another residence.
