Do not rent here -

Apartment was OK. Toilet ran water continuously, which added to exhorbitant water charges. Maintenance did not repair despite multiple visits. Neighbor's large dog barked constantly due to being kept home alone in a crate. As far as I could tell, no one ever cleaned up the dog's excrement from the yard: there were at least 20 piles between the parking space and our apartment. The black fly infestation was also pretty annoying, but that could have been due to the dog excrement. The worst part was that we knew we wouldn't be staying a full year, since we were searching for a house to buy. Our rental agent, who was very nice at the time, explained that the lease stated we either had to give 60 days notice OR pay 1 month's rent if we left early. That is also how the lease seemed to read to me. She strongly recommmended the 1-year lease, and based on our understanding of the penalty, it made sense to me. Instead, we had to pay 3 month's extra rent. They also automatically kept our security deposit, even though the lease said nothing about losing that if we left early. My biggest advice: don't rent here (it's unpleasant), never trust a rental agent (they will lie to you), and get a lawyer to go over the lease with you before you rent.
