STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
My roommate and I ignored all the reviews and by day 2 of living there we were paying for it!! The day we moved in half of the cabinets were broken, our air conditioner was broken, and the place smelled horrible! The attempts to fix things were merely a cute attempt b/c as soon as they left things fell apart again, and out of the 12 months we lived there our air conditioner worked about 3 of them. The place is very poorly insulated and you can hear EVERYTHING through both the walls and windows and it does not keep heat/cold out so you pay more trying to control the outside temperature than you do your actual apartment. We lived on the top floor so whenever our neighbors came stomping up the steps our apartment literally felt like it was going to collapse, and the smoke from the apartment below rose up and made our apartment smell even worse! We ourselves, had to put a weather strip at the bottom of our front door b/c it had about a 1/2 inch gap which allowed bugs to crawl in. We also had to go around and caulk up holes left near the stairs and holes around the outlets b/c they were clearly put on by a drunk individual seeing as they were almost sideways they were so crooked. The water that you pay for will be shut off randomly without your knowing, and we were given the joy of having been told that from April to July every Tuesday and Thursday our water will be off from 9 in the morning until 6 at night for "construction". Parking is a joke! I usually try to get the corner spot and park close to the curb but somehow my doors have dents all in them from careless parking jobs and my roommate (who parks the same way) had her whole back end smashed by someone who also drove off without a note or anything. In the last month we were there a person puked right by my car and I had it splattered all over the driver's side then they puked all the way to the stairs and left a pile of napkins and gloves at the scene. Also, if people can't find a spot right at their front door they just make one by parking in the middle of the street instead of having to walk a little. Having said all that I'm sure you can tell that the people that choose to live there are real classy people. Bugs are a HUGE HUGE HUGE problem! We had spiders, earwigs, and cockroaches all the time! We lived very clean and were shocked and utterly disgusted by having to deal with them. We let off bug bombs and sprayed raid constantly only to find that that just stirred them up and made them multiply! Mold is another problem you'll run into, but you won't see that until you've lived in there for a few months b/c they conveniently attempt to cover it up by just painting over it, and when it rains your ceilings will begin to turn brown in spots due to water damage. In the last few weeks of our lease we refused to stay there any longer and so when we came back to move out we found mice feces and a hole beside our front door. This place is probably the worst place you could possible move to so if you haven't already signed a lease consider yourself very lucky and don't be like us and ignore these reviews b/c they look very nice from the outside...they're cheaply made and a total scam!
