I will boil down my review to a few points:
1) The windows are all single pane glass. This means in the winter water/ice accumulates on the inside of your glass and WILL form mold/mildew. They have no solutions and the mold next to the windows were clearly painted over rather than cleaned. Think twice when they ask you to sign a "mold release form".
2) They have ONE maintanence man for the entire complex. He is very nice, but is swamped and if you have a problem, ask about a week before expecting the repairs.
3) They are overpriced. We have a two bedroom apartment that runs us almost $700.00 per month. The two pools they advertise are barely long enough for one person to stretch out in. The staff generally gives you the impression that they are helpful, but in reality just try to say what they think you want to hear and then promptly forgets about you. Their pet policy is extremely high and if you have a dog or cat, expect to pay out $400-$500 in fees(non-refundable) as well as get $25-50 tacked on to each month's rent. (by the way we have NO pets)
I have lived all over knoxville in 6 different apartments over the last 15 years. This is the worst place BY FAR. I have never written a review before on anything, but I had to do my part to give people a heads up about this place.

Thats funny that you say these things because I live in the same floorplan you do and have had some issues but the things your talking about I prevented. The mold in the windows is probably from you not careing to clean them. The office staff has always been helpful since I have no idea about Knoxville,they let me know about things around town and the nightlife. I like it here and plan to renew my lease in august.

I do try to wipe down the windows at least every other day. I'll admit that it gets harder to wipe down the windows with bleach when you have to chip the ice off first. My point, however, is that if you don't want to have to bother with that, or any number of the other problems which I have enumerated previously, pay less every month and deal with people every bit as friendly, rent somewhere else!

I agree! Rent somewhere else! I have had problem after problem since I moved in back in August of '08. The first day I moved in no one showed up to do a walk through with us. So after hours of waiting we finally called the office and the manager told us that she did not know we had arrived! Not long after moving in our dishwasher broke. The carpet had to be pulled up to dry underneath and no one ever put my carpet back down. Now every time I walk through my door I trip and almost fall. This was at least three months ago. My latest experience involved my heating unit and a $266 KUB bill! Maintenance came to check my unit and found that someone had wired the unit wrong and it was pulling air in instead of pushing it out causing the unit to constantly run. I have tried to contact the manager on four different occasions about this problem and she will not return my call. This is just a taste of my bad experience hear at Steeplechase which is ran by the Fogelman Management group which is headquartered in Memphis, TN. I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone.
