I lived here from 2001-2003 and I have to say that for the most part I was happy. Outside of the price, which amounts to about $1300/month per unit when you factor everybody in, the facility is pretty nice. I've heard and have seen some units with a fair share of problems, such as destroyed furniture, water damage, and broken bathroom components... but since the clientelle is mostly college students this is to be expected. Unfortunately, the reason I left Sterling was the contribution from the staff. My first year there it was pretty well maintained and they seemed cheerful to help you out, but that changed the minute they got a new facility manager. Repairs were half-assed in many cases and small things like the hot tub not being turned on (ice cold in September) began to add up. The computer lab is dated and if you manage to find a printer that works, your lucky. Parking became difficult for guests as they stepped up the towing policy and noise became a bigger problem as the staff failed to follow through with noise complaints (in many cases because the offenders were friends of the college-aged staffers). Regardless, Sterling has some pretty good ammenitites (YOU DO PAY FOR THEM though). They've got some new furnishings, a great pool, and considering the place is only about 6 years old its in pretty good shape. Like any other place there's the chance you find a neglected room, but otherwise its a nice place that can make you feel pampered... with the exception of the staff. So if you don't mind lacking reliable, courteous service and can spare the change, go for it, you won't be too bad off in the end... maybe just a little mad at the ticket price. Good Luck.
