Straight shooting on my 3 yrs. there (yes management is horrible, but SUH has its good and bad) Please read this honest review

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2003
I lived there for 3 years and a summer. When we first moved in, the apt. was brand new. As soon as you touch a wall, it shows, and when you try to remove it with water (or anything) it smears. The countertops look good, but fall-apart after less than a year and reveal the cheap commpressed plywood underneath. The walls are thin and our couch wore a couple 3" deep holes in the wall. We could almost see are neighbors living room. And the walls are so thin, in the living room you can here what your neighors are saying or watching on tv. Rooms are small, closets are big. Bathrooms are good. We lived on the 3rd floor and had a good view(The only floor to live on unless you want dust and dirt and split beer for a shower.) Pool, basketball court, bus, and weightroom were good. Computer room, and management were a joke.
More on the management. As you have probably read, the managment are a bouch of power-crazy idiots. They (Angela, Chrissy, Amy-maybe (the old lady with blonde hair)) are the biggest biotches you will ever encounter. Somebody should remind them that they don't own the place. The maintence guys are lazy and also feel as if you are a burden. Everybody up there sits around and bullsh.i.t's and when you need something they look at you as if you are a nucense.
**Please Read this** When we first signed our lease, we plainly stated that we wanted a 9mo. On the paper it the date spanned up to the next Aug. looking like it was a 12mo. We asked the guy (no longer there) if this was a 9mo. (many times) and he said yes. But when we went to resign, they said "Oh you guys signed a 12mo. and you have to pay rent for the summer too." We could not get out of this. This was our first run in with the management.
Numerous, pain-in-the-ass fines were argued over the 3 yrs. Like Cluttered balcony, (Christmas Lights and small 12" grill), trash out side (15 mins) till me and my roomate took it out.
You really feel like they are out looking for something to fine people for.----And they are, on several occasions we would what from our balcony as their lazy asses drive around in the golf cart and stair up at the balconies to find a reason to fine you.
The only way you can have privacy there is to lock the top debolt, which can only be locked from the inside. They have a key to the other (the one you lock when you leave) and they will come in at will like they own the place to do whatever, if you are there or not.
There are alot of hotties, and you will me them and other cool people living there, especially on the bus.
But, if I did it again I would have moved out after the first year and rented a house, or even better talked my mom and other roomates parents into buying a house---because we more or less bought one paying the high Sterling rent anyway.
All in all we still had the best times of our lives,
--even if the management charged us $60 for a set of window blinds when we moved out. (What the charge you when you move out is to horrid to describe.)
