i lived at sterling university heights for 2 years. i had an overall positive experience. my apartment was decently sized and furnished, but i thought the rent was a little pricy and the furniture was poor quality. i had little or no problems with noise, but on several occassions non-residents visiting residents at parties would set off the fire alarms and vandalize cars. my car was vandalized one evening and i had to pay $300 to fix the damage. management was the biggest problem at sterling. no one seemed to know what was going on ever. maintenance trashed your place when they came in to do repairs. parking was also an issue--guest parking was never enforced and i had to park 3 buildings away if i came home after 10 P.M. when sterling was bought by college park communities, residents all of a sudden started receiving water bills without notice. overall, it was a positive experience. just the price, useless management, and lack of responsibility for actions going on at their property made it unpleasant.
