Look inside first

Must say that the office people there are great: very responsive, etc. They can only do so much and have to work with what they have. The setting is very nice, and in general the whole area is very quiet and safe. It is very convenient to UT, downtown and highways. BUT,... you should either insist on seeing the apartment you are renting, or go somewhere else. Mine has the following problems:
1) bathroom looks like it belongs in a Motel 6 which has not been remodeled since 1977; multiple layers of paint over hinges, switch plates, etc. Sink and tub are scratched and old; floor has obviously had water damage and sinks down when standing near it.
2) walls in the LR and BR have many marks from replastering holes and water damage
3) floor in upstairs BR sinks in the middle... I mean you actually feel like you are walking downhill
4) plan on either freezing in the winter or paying a huge heating bill.
5) as others have said, it is dog and cat friendly...but not human friendly if you don't like stepping in piles of dog s*%# In over a year have not seen a single dog owner walking their dog with a bag or scooper.
