I have to respond to the last two reviews because I too live in Building 5 and am wondering if the last person should consider moving over here. We'll even help you move! While I am not sure what the other buildings are like I can only say that perhaps we got lucky over here in the two bedrooms. EVERYONE, including the mail-man is friendly. I have dealt with the management staff on more then one occasion and they have been great. While it may seem that the fellow who wrote the second to last review is probably a bit biased because it sounds like he may have a thing for the "cute and friendly leasing manager". Regardless though, if you cannot appreciate the wonderful ammenities and beauty of the place then you need to really open your eyes and maybe even have a look at the other apartments around the area. Don't even have to go far. Look at the ugly brick facade of the West Side Apartments across the street. Sterile, cold, and uninviting with the stupid dogs deficating all over the place - reminds me of a housing project. That's what you will typically find around here. Londontown is on top of the Interstate and unless you enjoy listening to the sound of 18-wheelers whizzing by at 70-80 mph on I-40, then forget that one. Go too far east and you get the "Fort Sanders" typical areas. Lots of homeless, crime and traffic, not to mention the drunken undergraduates at UT. Too far west and it gets awfully pricy. Sutters Mill is a gold mine and the perfect balance of price, location, ammenities and personnel. Try driving through the entrance on Gate Lane. Just look at the beautiful rolling green hills and spacious areas with the volleyball court and grill area. What a perfect spot for families and kids - plenty of room and grass to play catch and throw a frisbee or football around. The fact that Management Company maintains that open area for their residents instead of expanding the building complex to build more units and make more money says A LOT. The dogwood trees, willow trees, and pear trees all dotting the mainicured landscape is a rarity. The neat little Lakeshore Park is practically walking distance. The pool is open early in the year and until 10:00 PM nightly. The fitness center, basketball and tennis courts are never crowded and are well kept. The little playground is ideal for kids. The clientelle is a perfect blend of mature older college students, young singles, and married couples. I'm not sure what the last person experienced to make him/her so bitter but it's unfortunate. I encourage him/her to reconsider what they have here or visit other places to compare and get a better appreciation and perspective. The best part is that there are no dogs allowed. That rule eliminates a multitude of problems. Trust me folks...this place is an absolute steal!
