Pretty Good

I have lived at the Woodgate apartments since August 2008. I can say that the apartments are pretty good, but there are a couple problems.
My car has been broken into twice. The first time they busted my window out all for nothing, because I don't keep anything of value in my car. Luckily the cops found the perps but I still haven't received any money for my window and probably won;t for awhile. Not only has my car been broken into, I know of at least four other people's who have as well.
Another problem is that the maintinance guys, ho are nice and try to fix things, don;t seem to fix things very well. My stove broke twice, obviously the fist time it wasn't fixed completely and the second time they "fixed" it where it stays on all the time and was running my KUB bill up to $150, after that I began flipping the breaker, to m surprise my KUB bill went down to 41.00 a month. Also my air conditioner broke and wasn't completely fixed until about 2 weeks later.
The apartment really needs to update the appliances. They are obviously from the 70's and are costing renters on the KUB bill. And for the price I am paying here, I could have a studio downtown that is a lot better!!
Also, when we wanted to move out, they told us we would have to give 30 day notice and payout that 30 days (which is fine BUT) AND then AFTER we move out we have to pay ANOTHER 500 bucks when we don't even live there'' WTF! that's a rip off. So we are stuck until August.
BUT, the apartments are VERY quiet, I never hear my neighbors, and the maintainance staff are very fast to fix the problems. No bugs, but they don't allow pets anymore, unfortunately.
Overall, I think I can get a better apartment for the price I am paying.
***UPDATE***
So we had found a new apartment that we wanted to move into after our lease is up. It was the last week of June when the other apartments called me and let me know that Woodgate wasn't releasing our information until we gave them a 30 day notice. So I prompty went to the office the next day (June 30th, 30 days wasn't due until July 1st) and informed the manager that we were going to give the 30 days. She then proceeded to pull out the paper that was faxed to her by the new apartments and showed to us like we were doing something wrong. I just reply with, "Yep, that's ours," and smiled the whole way through while she was being completely unprofessional and frankly acting like a b**ch. I hate to use that word on here, but there is no other way to discribe her behavior. This really made me think twice about my view of the staff. They had always been friendly until that day. I just couldn't believe she thought we were trying to move out on her without telling her. Why would I do that when we only had a month left and I would forfeit my deposit''

I think that it is standard procedure not to release information until a written notice has been given. I don't think you should feel that the office was thinking bad of you it's just procedure....
