Don't be fooled! From: MadisonFamily07 Date posted: 7/11/2007 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007   My family has lived in this complex for three years. This is our third apartment here. Each one has been consecutively worse. The property was bought last year and is now managed by Brookside Properties. In the last year we have been through 4 property managers. We were very excited about the change of owners until we realized that they were not improving the property. They repainted the exterior without fixing damaged wood. The entry doors are falling apart and the paint it horrible. Two of the townhouses we have rented had rotting wood around the door casing causing water to flood our kitchen when it rains. Very drafty in the winter and AC units do not cool the upstairs efficiently. Power bills range from $125-150 all year long for our 2Bd Townhouse. The grounds keeper is creepy and incompetent. There is always garbage on the ground beside the dumpsters. Debris and trash throughout the complex. The interiors are very out dated, shoddy paint job, lots of over spray on carpets, windows and fixtures. We have had a problem with brown recluses in all 3 apartments. There is a lot of traffic continually driving through the property at all hours of the day and night. There is no courtesy officer on the premises either. I have never had any problems but it could definitely be a safer community. Do not be fooled by their fancy advertisements online. The pictures are very deceiving! They advertise great amenities such as spacious closets, boat storage and a playground, access to public transportation. The closets are small and the doors are very rickety. The gated lot that is supposed to used for boats is over grown and they do not allow anyone to use it. The play ground consists of old mulch, a tall metal slide and the frame of what should be a swing set. There are chains hanging from it and there are a couple old swing seats that fall off. Very unsafe!! Access to MTA is quite far away to walk to, not convenient at all. The staff is very friendly but not very professional. The maintenance supervisor is great, however she is being pulled between so many properties you would be lucky to have have repairs done in a timely manor. We do not recommend this property!
