I have lived at Berkley Hills about two years now. I had no complaints for the first year that I lived here, the place was well-kept and the management was friendly, they knew me by name [which was impressive!] Lisa England managed the place at the time and she was so nice and always helpful. It really felt like home. I was very upset to see that Lisa left.

Anyway, I really have mixed feelings about the new management. I do want to give them credit for keeping the place well-maintained. They have always been polite when I have spoken to them. However, like a lot of people I was upset about the new parking permit rule. My contract stated that I was allowed to have two parking spaces in front of my building. I don't think it's fair that we are now required to pay $25 for a permit. The whole point of them doing that was so people who paid were given the best parking. But now they are requiring every resident to buy a permit. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose' It seems like the whole thing was just a way to make money. Now we all have parking permits and the same amount of parking space.

Also, a year or so ago a company came in and sprayed my apartment for bugs. I was given no warning of this. I just came home and my door was unlocked and every light in the house was on. There was a card saying exterminators had come in and sprayed. I never had a bug problem before that, now I do. Go figure.

Another complaint is the water bill. It's $30 a month, flat. I don't use that much water, I live alone. It seems like an awful lot to pay.

Other than that it hasen't been a horrible place to live, I've only had a few complaints. I'm glad I opted to move here, but this past year has been a real disappointment. I don't plan to renew my lease, I think it's time to move on.
