Living here was a nightmare. Our lease was for a year, but we broke it after about 6 months. The maintenance man, Sonny, entered my apartment, while I slept in my underwear, alone (husband at work) upstairs. He was there for an unknown length of time, "fixing" a fire detector that belonged to my husband and me. I had receipts to prove this. When I confronted Linda, the manager, about this, she told me that - and I quote - "as renters, you should be used to people coming into your house." When I called the owner (Brown, Brown, and West), I was called a liar and my complaint of violating my privacy was ignored. After numerous go arounds with the downright rude Linda and a couple with the owners of the building, my husband and I broke our lease and moved elsewhere. We later found out that Linda has forged checks at numerous stores in the area and goes by different last names. It came as no surprise.
The apartments were old and dirty and cramped, but we knew that moving in to the place. We were in search of a place near Maryville College where I went to school. It was possibly the biggest mistake we ever made. We also later found out that BB&W has evicted and sued many people. Our neighbor was a nice, quiet guy - a pilot with Tyson McGhee. He never caused any trouble and was hardly ever home. He had a nice dog (small border collie type). He was walking the dog one day and it barked at the neighbor's dog. The neighbor called Linda and said that Brad's dog caused her dog emotional trauma. Linda called animal services, who came, entered his house, and took the dog to be EUTHANIZED!!!!!!!!! Brad managed to get the dog back, after being evicted. The guy was a PILOT - he was NEVER home. He paid his whole lease up front. He took Linda to court and sued her in Knox County. He won. When we were sued for breaking our lease, in Blount County, we lost. Our neighbors on the other side were also evicted, for what reason, we never found out. BB&W is interested in money and nothing else. NEVER LIVE THERE!
