Unbelievable When driving by please ignore the signs stating, Apartment Living At It s Best, because it s more like apartment living at it s worst! I want to be completely honest and state that you may have a great experience living here if you re one of the lucky ones who don t have any major maintenance issues. In that case, you won t have to deal with the unprofessional staff and parking will probably be your only main concern. However, unless you re extremely handy and don t mind spending your time and money repairing things yourself run far, far away. I lived in the complex for a year and I m so glad that my stay there is over!
As a resident you will soon discover that the management s main concern is keeping up outside appearances of the complex to lure unsuspecting residents in. Please be aware that most of the advertisements are false: the majority of the equipment in the fitness room is broken, out of three pools the residents were only able to make use of two (and they opened at the end of July/beginning of August), and the tennis court is always covered with broken glass.
The maintenance crew is somewhat competent but good luck with finding this out because you ll usually find them congregating amongst themselves in the parking lot although you have called the office repeatedly about a broken AC unit, plumbing issues, etc. Before I moved there was an issue with vandalism (kids were breaking windows) after filing a police report and following proper protocol weeks went by and my window still wasn t replaced, I had to resort to taping a piece of cardboard up how tacky!
Rosanna is usually the one who answers the phone calls, she may sound sweet and concerned over the phone, but please don t let this fool you because she ll tell you just about anything to get you off the phone. I also know of many residents, myself included, who think she is in need of a major attitude readjustment like it s our fault she has to do her job! If you do end up moving here and have a maintenance problem, hopefully it ll happen over the weekend because whoever you talk to when you call the emergency maintenance line is pretty good with sending somebody out right away. But personally, I always had to threaten to call cooperate that usually had someone there working on my problem by the next day -seriously!
FYI, if you have an apartment with two bathrooms and end up have a plumbing issue in one of the two it may be months before someone comes out to fix it although you ve called about it a trillion times. They (usually Rosanna) will tell you that they haven t got to your apartment because they have to go in order but that s not true I later learned that the truth is that you re not a priority because you still have one bathroom that you can use (even though you re paying hard earned money for the use of two). If you end up renting a washer/dryer good luck with that because if it needs to be repaired for any reason you might as well get you roll of quarters out and go to the Laundromat around the corner because it will not get fixed.
Last but not least, at times you may find it difficult to merely go home and relax after a hard days of work because upon entering the complex, you will seriously think you re on your way to visit somebody on death row instead of trying to get home to your bubble bath. This is due to (on occasion) you being stopped at the entrance of the complex by MPD and being asked to show identification, about who you re here to visit, and for your tag number.
