I'm lucky I'm in a "better" building

I have a 1-bedroom apt where I've lived for 2 1/2 yrs. There is trash everywhere including in the community dumpster which piles way up before being emptied. I had a problem with a dishwasher which took 5 months to fix. My dryer, which I rent from them for $35/mo., broke and it took 2 weeks to fix it. They must be harrassed to complete a repair job.
Other than that, the apartments are cheaper than most and the location is good. The design is nice on the inside.
It's okay to live there as long as you're in a good building with parking, which doesn't have 10 people per apartment. There are lots of unsupervised children from about age 3 to 20 running around. They've torn up the tennis court and the management hasn't fixed it for over 2 years.
Management has said they're beginning to screen people better, but I think I have drug deliveries made to an apartment near mine pretty regularly.
They also refuse to take care of an errosion problem with the landscaping- opting, instead, to cover it with mulch every quarter.
If you are illegal or fall into an "equal housing" category, you can probably move in regardless of your credit. But, if you don't fit into that category, have less than perfect credit with a high-paying job, you cannot move in there.
Look somewhere else if you can afford it.
