Not TERRIBLE, but definitely be cautious...

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
My now-husband lived here for almost a year and a half. He was released from his lease when his apartment flooded due to the complex not taking proper care of another unit (the water pipe burst because they didn't leave the heat on at all in a fire-damaged unit next door).
When this happened, their attitude was basically, "Wow, sucks for you". LUCKILY, he had insurance and was able to buy new furniture, etc.
- Someone came to the apartment to assess damage or something, while Jon was out of town for business, and apparently the solution to the flooding was "throw all his belongings in the bathroom, turn the bed on its side (the mattress WAS the only thing not water damaged and then they turned it up on its side and it got wet), and put a large fan in the living room.
Yes, I'm serious, they actually threw all his things in the bathroom (that had 2 inches of standing water). I have pictures that I took to the office when they released him from the lease. Anything that was on the carpet - clothes, boxes, etc, - was literally thrown into the bathroom. I simply could not believe it.
The residents at the complex honestly didn't seem like people I would trust, but that's not the complex's fault.
I just couldn't accept the fact that they threw all his things in the bathroom and left them there for a week. Both of us called the office, and finally had to call the manager of the leasing company, LEDIC I believe, to get him out of the lease. We moved what we could and left the rest. By the time he was able to move, the apartment SMELLED RANCID. Mold was growing on the walls. Apparently, they were finished with the problem. He stayed at my mom's house with us for 3 days, and when we went back to salvage what we could from the place, there was STILL standing water, and the carpet had not been pulled up yet. That's the FIRST thing you do in a flood situation. I believe it was about 8 or 9 days that the apartment was flooded. He stayed with me at my mom's place only after she offered; his complex obviously didn't care if he had a dry place to sleep. They seriously just ignored the fact that his apartment was unlivable. That was December of last year. Who knows, it might still be under water now.
