Get EVERYTHING that management says to you in writing and keep for your records. Management WILL swindle you out of every penny possible upon moving out, no matter how long you are there or how good of a resident you are. We lived there for 2.5 years because we loved the location, but left because amenities went down, and rent went up over and over again.

Parking is horrible. I had to park in visitor's parking on a regular basis, while true visitors parked in resident parking. People also park in the handicap spots all the time and along the curbs blocking everyone else in. We repeatedly complained about this and it constantly occurred.

We chose these apartments because of it being a "gated community" but the gate virtually never worked. The gate being broken coincedentally corresponded to letters on our door notifying us of break ins, but management would refuse to give any information on where the break ins occurred so we could protect ourselves. You are on your own from a safety standpoint in these apartments. Management lack of action is evidence of that.

Residents let their dogs use the bathroom EVERYWHERE. The combination of the river smelling like sewage was compounded by the dog poop that littered the walkways as well as the grassy areas.

Upon moving out, we received a hefty bill for ridiculous items such as "excessive nail holes throughout apartment = $20". We had 5 paintings in the entire apartment. They charged us $20 per room for "floor not vaccuumed" when it was. The list goes on and on. We heard this similar complaint when friends of ours left, so we made sure to clean. They also are charging us for things that were there when we arrived like stained linoleum in the bathroom.

If you need to get out of the lease early, forget it or pay! We lived there for 2 years, then wanted to sign a 6-month lease. They asked us to sign through the end of January since they had so many residents leaving in December, and we said OK. We had to get a bigger place because of a family situation and even with 60-days of notice we were still charged $855 as a penalty on top of rent for terminating the lease early!!

This has been an absolutely horrible experience. The management of the Estates at River Pointe will try to swindle you out of every penny you have if you let them. Take our experience as a lesson and live in one of the other apartment complexes on the island. Give your money to an ethical company who respects their residents.

This resident is absolutely right. I experienced each complaint first hand. I also have to volunteer that in early November I received a call from management. They were asking if maintenance had repaired the weather stripping under my door to my satisfaction. I had requested the repair because a snake got into my apartment. The repair took place last June and I moved out in August. That is quite a lag in follow up, but since she asked about that problem I asked why no one had called me back about me contesting some of the fees I was charged during my move. You can read my review as well, I'm the guy with the bathtub they wouldn't repair and then charged me for damages. The gate was a pet peeve of mine as it never worked. I hear the Grove is a nice complex.
