not bad at all

I've been here for two years and will upgrade to a 2-bedroom for the next year at least. I've been very happy here. My apartment rent only went up $30 after the first year. Compared to the larger apt's in midtown, this place is a little bit high-priced for the amount of space. However, I, a single young lady, have always felt safe in the building, much safer than I do in Midtown. Plus, I'm not far from work and from recreational places downtown. I actually live in the noisiest part of the complex, because my balcony overlooks the pool area, and it's honestly not THAT noisy- it's usually the sound of kids splashing in the pool or people laughing, which are not offensive noises to me. The new office staff is MUCH friendlier and approachable than the last group, and if maintenance takes a while, it is only because their staff has been short. Recently, they have hired a new maintenance supervisor who seems to be getting all the maintenance kinks worked out, and taking care of work orders quickly.
It all depends on what is important to you!'
It's an excellent location. The apartments on Harbor Town are in the same price range, or more, and they are removed from the actual downtown area, so you can't really walk. Plus, the island is full of snakes and has a bad termite problem due to the high level of moisture in the ground there. The only other apartments downtown that are actually IN downtown have a crappy parking situation, although the building is lovely. Plus, Fielder Square has balconies, which are really nice to have when you live on a high-level floor, and have no yard. It's a nice, way to enjoy the outdoors while living amid urban silliness.
I wouldn't go by all the negative comments here- everyone is different. So if you are interested, come see for yourself. It's not bad at all, and I've been very happy here.
