Pretty darn bad...

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
One good thing to say about the place: If they ever DO get your maintenance report in, they fix things quickly and efficiently. (That's after I called 4 times over the course of 3 days to get my toilet fixed - I had a one-bathroom so I couldn't use my own toilet).
I should have known when I TOOK A DAY OFF OF WORK to move in and went into the office and they said, "Oh, we don't have the key to your apartment. You'll have to move in on Monday." They actually had no key to my apartment, so I lost a day's work. I should have walked out the door right then. But when can I say, I was 20 and knew everything.
It may not be the complex's fault, but the people that live there tend to be of varying class, from ghetto to white trash. I lived next door to a black person (I never could figure out which one actually lived there but there were about 4 or 5 that came and went on a regulas basis) who thought it was appropriate to blast their music about 22 hours a day. Once this ----- opened her car door up and slammed it into my car. After calling the police about 10 times, I wrote a letter to the management and got them evicted.
Each month I had a pretty little note on my door saying that I hadn't paid my rent, or I was late. When I actually WAS late, they never said anything. When you try to get in touch with the staff to correct these types of matters, the right person is always "out" or "at lunch". That's what made me the maddest - if you're going to accuse me of something, at least be there to speak to so I can defend myself. They had 3 different bookkeepers there when I lived at Greenbrook; the last of these told me, when I went into the office to make a payment, that the reason I kept getting notices about my rent is because "the program that they use to keep track of payments is just so hard *giggle*". She had been recording my payments wrong, which was why I was getting so many weird notices. Wow, isn't that hilarious.
People parked pretty much wherever they wanted, and no one gave any type of warning even when someone parked in a place that was obviously not a parking spot or even in a place where it would have been a fire hazard. I feel certain that a fire truck would never have been able to get to my building because of the way people parked in the next building.
My apartment was adorable. I loved the layout, and it was spacious enough for a 20-year-old. The landscaping was really pretty. The pool by my building was nice as well.
For $550 a month, though, I would expect MUCH better staff. It's obvious that they had no idea what they were doing, except sitting there waiting for a paycheck. It was enough of a hassle to make me think twice if I ever had to choose again.
