GreenBrook Pros & Cons From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 6/3/2008 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006   I lived in the Greenbrook Apts for 3 years while in College at the University of Memphis. The rent was actually cheaper than a semester of living in a dorm on campus plus I could have the privacy of my own place. Our unit Eastbrook lane was actually really nice. It was a renovated unit, so we had all new appliances and a new bath tub(I had to request that the bath tub be replaced). They actually tried to paint the old bath tub and each time I tried to take a bath, there were paint chips floating in my water. The bugs are very annoying. Please be cautious of the Arachnophobia(Spiders are everywhere, especially if your unit is close to trees. Also be aware of the fireplace. I had the pleasure of coming home to a squirrel in my bedroom and also a bird that was stuck in the chimney. Maintenance claimed that they had removed the squirrel but when got home from work the squirrel was still was in my apartment (under my bed chilling). I called my boyfriend who came and chased it back up the chimney. After that experience I decided to board up the fireplace until I moved out. Also the accounting manager would miss place my rent payments and then leave me threatening eviction letters on my door. I complained so much that they gave me a discount towards my next month of rent (It was well deserved). The best thing about Greenbrook is its location. The complex is close to the Wolfchase area and only 15 minutes away from the University. If your a student and you show your class schedule they will wave all of your application fees and deposit fees. My neighbors in my unit were really nice. Everyone kinda looked out for one another, but my boyfriend's car was broken into one night while parked outside my unit. If you ever decide to rent at Greenbrook make sure you get a renovated unit, and ask to see the actual unit before you move in so you can request any repairs before you make the move.
