These apartments have a lot to offer. The grounds are beautiful, and the apartments themselves have been very well-maintained, considering the age of the buildings. They're fairly spacious and most have hardwood floors. The office and maintenance staff are very friendly and respond to complaints in a timely manner. As for safety, the complex has its own security guard who patrols at night. I've never heard of any break-ins and have always felt relatively safe.

Unfortunately, with all these nice amenities come Amish-esque domestic conditions. There are no modern appliances such as dishwashers, no central air conditioning (though there is central heating), and no washer/dryers or even a place to hook them up. The laundry room is in the basement of another building down the street from me. Most importantly of all, there's no insulation, making the apartment ovenlike in summer and freezing in winter no matter what you do. My utility bill has always been high, but the one I just received has made me decide to move. I have loved living at this complex, but I can't afford to keep paying such excessive utility bills.
