I don't think I've ever witnessed a more incompetent management staff and I have been an apartment dweller for YEARS in the south, north, east coast, and west coast! I have lived in KS for a year and I can't tell you how difficult it is to work with management. Everything that they promise you..a clean (filthy, stained and old), safe (they strongly recommended renter's insurance...I wonder why), convenient gym (can never use it because something is ALWAYS broken and only 2 people can fit in the room at one time), laundy room (don't even get me started..), parking (if you like to walk all the way back to your unit after 7pm because all the spots near your unit are taken), quiet and relaxing (noisy neighbors throwing parties OUTSIDE at 2am)...is a lie! I mean, seriously, the ladies who work in the office SEEM so pleasant that they make you want to believe that it's a great place to live. Well, haha, just do yourself a favor and LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE KIDS. The only people who live here are the people who are willing to risk safety and security and headaches to save maybe $50 a month. I took my chances living there and have never had a worse experience ANYWHERE and again, I come from big, high-crime, dirty cities like Chicago, Philly, NYC, New Orleans. I've seen it all, but I would never in a million years ever recommend KS to anyone. I don't think I felt safe a single night I was there, primarily because most of the people who live there are creepy men who just stare when you walk or drive by. Oh, and then the security deposit. Don't count on seeing it again. You won't. If you ask for it, they come up with some convenient mathematical breakdown that shows that you created exactly the amount of damages to the unit that is covered by the security deposit. Wow. What are the chances? And then.....just don't do it. Oh, the best was when I received threatening ( "legal action will be taken") letters from management about amounts owed (which I had always paid by the way, but they can't keep their own records straight) and so I got fed up and decided once and for all I would move. Then what do I get from them? A plea stating that they would cut my next month's rent in half if I renewed my lease. Wow.
