Okay place to live when there aren't problems

I wrote a review here in the summer after the water outage. I still feel that this problem wasn't handled very well.
I do think that there could be better communications from the management to the tenants when a problem occurs. I think that this is a major problem here.
However, I will say now that after living here for one year, this is a nice place. We feel safe here, and we like the apartment. I would now say that I could recommend it to others looking for an apartment.
The two issues I have are:
1. When you move in, ask about the ISTA bill. It was not mentioned to us when we moved in (I am sure it does mention it somewhere in the lease). Expect to pay an $ 30 each month for expenses such as trash, water, etc.) This is paid to LOG with the monthly rent.
2. When problems occur (like water outage or the trash compactor being broken for weeks at a time), don't expect to know what is going on from the staff.

How do you know the mgr wasn't manning the phone. How do you know she didn't take hundreds of calls. The manager to this community works her butt off!!!!Do you have any idea how many units there are here? You should call and ask the staff. There are over 600 units on the property. Management staff members are not fortune tellers. There was no way to know that the entire property would have to be shut off. I live in building 12 and the building was NOT flooded, we just didn't have water for a bit. Yes, of course it would have been nice to know that before hand, but things like that cannot be perdicted. I manage buildings in Memphis and $%&* happens man!!!! Oh, well, I guess your a perfect tenant, so you know it all!!! LOL |

When a major repair issue (ie; a water main rupture) develops, I would rather the staff focus on correcting the issue as oppossed to manning the phones & answering idiotic questions from hundreds of individuals who think the water outage is a bigger problem FOR THEM than for anyone else!! Especially when it happens at 11pm. Get over it you schmuck!

I think that this person was right in being mad about the water being cut off without any kind of notification. Also I don't think that management knew the water leak would happen, but I think they did know the water would need to be cut to fix it. I am upset, because today the water was cut off while I was in the shower. When I called they said that they were told to fix it during the day because most people would not be here, this tells me that they knew the water would need to be cut ahead of time. Is it so much to ask that management let the residents know that the water will need to be cut off on a certain day. Had I known I would not have had shampoo in my hair when the water was cut!! I'm very unhappy with how management handles issues here! Also I feel that the other two responses to this review were written by employees of LOG! |

They were aware because I WAS IN THE OFFICE when the leasing agent that sits in the front lobby came back there and told the manager that the water was to be shut off in two buildings closest to the office and should they put up flyers. The manager said no. I was sitting right there at her desk AND SHE SAID NO!!

I've thought about what wahwah and LRGJr72 said, and what bothered me the most is that they both act like the management was doing something about the problem. The water was turned on a Sunday night after closing. Our phone calls to the office were around 7 or 8, not 11:00 like LRG states. Does anyone think that a tenant calling the office to find out when the water might be turned on is an idiotic question? I don't! If they think that is unreasonable maybe they should not be in customer service! Okay, there are 600 units in the complex. Instead of answering all the calls from concerned tenants when there is a problem like this, why not change the automated phone message which, at the time of the incident, said something like, "there are no problems or issues at the complex", simply record a simple messsage like, "hi this is the management...there is an issue...we are working on it, etc., etc." If they had done that I would have been happy. This would have taken maybe two minutes to record and then they could have concentrated on the problem. But then again, we don't know anything, we aren't in apartment management, we just think our problems are greater than anyone else's problems.

I've been reading some of the reviews you all have posted and i must say it is quite comical. I don't live there nor am i planing to. My brother is moving here from out of state and was interested in a place there so i decided to research it for him. I can understand how the water being shut off without notice would be annoying. The rest of the things people have been complaining about really are a fact of life. Garbage smelling and air conditioners being to loud are the result of clean comfortable homes! In conclusion, I will continue to read the reviews as they are my daily dose of laughter.
