Okay: I am going to tell it like it is. First, the good points.
1. The landscaping is beautiful
2. The area is relatively safe and the shops are close
3. The parking is pretty good
4. The rent is reasonable
5. It is pretty well lit
6. No car/apartment break-ins that I know of
7. People who live here are really nice
8. The apartments are spacious
9. The floorplans are well thought out

Now the bad:
1. The apartments are cheaply made
2. When your neighbor leaves and slams their doors, your pictures fall off the walls
3. The kitchen cabinets slant (You can get your vacuum cleaner under one side of the sink cabinets, but it slants down the other side and you cann;t get under there)
4. Something black comes out of the vents and gets all over your walls around up there in every room
5. They turn the water off without notifying anyone so if you are in the shower tough luck (I was actually in the office one day when they mentioned that the water was going to be turned off at a certain time and for several hours starting with one particular building the leasing agent asked of she should put up notices and the manager said no)
6. The mail.laundry rooms are a dirty disaster
7. One of the pools is broken a lot and there is a big hole full of trash where I guess a hot tub used to be
8. If you complain about a neighbor the manager will tell the neighbor that it was you so it makes for a very uncomfortable situation
9. The plug ins are so loose that if you want to vacuum someone has to stand at the wall and hold the cord in; otherwise, it falls out
10. The amount of single mothers moving in is increasing so you can imagine the ruckus of unsupervised unruly kids (especially after school and the language is HORRIBLE)
11. The foot traffic is picking up around the complex (Hickory Hill is catching up to us so you know what I mean)
12. The carpet is cheap and so is the pad under it
13. The whole apartment slants so the doors slam shut if you don't prop something in front of them (This is the new phase)
14. The chimneys don't draw so if you light a fire your whole apartment will fill with smoke (yes the flue is open!!)

No doubt. Hickory Hill used to be nice until they annexed it. No look at it. A bunch of thugs are moving in right and left. You try to move East to get away from the scum and the crime and they just follow you. Then fools like the one above say, "I don't know what you mean, maybe you should explain it." Please, playing politically correct is not going to keep you safe. You have to be a realist. EVERYONE knows who are really causing the Memphis crime rate to be one of the worst in the nation!!!

Hickory Hill has become the ghetto and now it is right at our door step. We need the National Guard to come in and clean it out just like theyare doing in Iraq.

I am with you all the way!! Hickory Hill is ridiculously dangerous. It has become the GHETTO and it is righ at our doorstep. I wish we could get the National Guard to come in and clean up Hickory Hill like they are doing Iraq.
