Not for students...or anyone

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
When looking for an apartment last year, I found this one...I thought it was in a good area because it was in "east" Memphis. That does not mean anything. I found out after moving in that my friend's apartment had been broken into the year before and the people who stole EVERYTHING from her apartment left her doors open...wouldn't you think someone would have reported it, or atleast closed the door' Nope, since Lynnfield is right by the lovely Nature Center, there were bugs everywhere...on everything she owned.
I didn't know about this until I'd already signed a year lease. I have a little bit to go on my lease and I am very ready to move.
I would seriously caution anyone seriously looking at this apartment complex. The price is right, but it's not worth what you have to go through. Granted the apartment is going through some serious renovations right now, but that does not mean a thing for what's actually inside your apartment.
Let me just introduce you to a little bit of what you might expect from the complex.
--If you're a student, don't move here because you will just live at the library or local coffee shop because the noise is absolutely unbearable.
--If you want to invite family or friends over for any type of meal...forget about it because all you will hear are your neighbors' parties.
--If you like to sing along to different songs, move here because your neighbors will have a large supply of music that you will be able to hear when waking up Saturday morning...actually any morning. And it doesn't matter if you complain, it still happens. I wake up 2-3 days a week to the music of my next door and upstairs neighbors...the music is so loud you can tell what song it is, who is singing and if the cd is skipping.
--If you don't want to play bumper cars...don't move here. Your car will get bumped/scratched.
--If you don't find it fun to compete for parking spots with kids, don't live here. The kids are seriously out of control. During the school year after school is out and during the summer, the kids are everywhere, congregating all hours of the day, riding bikes and scooters. They have no idea that a car going just 15 miles an hour will not only hurt the bike but also hurt them if they were to get hit.
--If you want to work out, there is a Y right around the corner, don't even think about going to the apartment workout room, it's a joke.
--If you like trees...don't move here. On their website, they say there are 'lots of trees.' Yes, there are lots of trees because you're right beside a nature center.
What does the Nature Center have to offer you'
The Nature Center offers you plenty of trees to bring you plenty of bugs...roaches, caterpillars, centipedes, brown recluses and other spiders...The Nature Center itself is nice for what it offers as a center, but the bugs in your apartment are horrible. On one day alone, I killed three brown recluses...no joke.
The apartment complex did send an exterminator out and then I could see how many dead roaches were actually in my apartment (it's disgusting).
--If you do live here, get an alarm system. I have one and have had 2 false alarms go off...now that's just a little bit shady, but it works.
--I had the police come to my apartment because of a false alarm and they said this themselves...it is not safe here because of the nature center (especially with apartments facing the center). They suggested I move out.
--Also, look at your apartment before you move in...and make sure to check the cable hookups. There were cable hookups in my living room, but they were dead hookups, we had the cable people come out 3 times to try and fix it, but you can't...so I had cables going to different outlets.
--They are doing a lot of construction, but that means random things happen. Our lights on the outside don't work, so it's a little scary at times.
I honestly have not had a bad experience with the management at all. They were very quick to get things fixed for me. They are extremely friendly, too. They are also pretty accessible. It's just the apartment that is in need of some attention. The apartment people do have a lot on their plate to take care of from day to day and they've done a good job with me, I never felt ignored. Just be careful when actually moving here, know what you're getting into. The price I paid for the 2 bed/bath was really good, too. But, it wasn't worth all of the problems I ran into.
And, beware, there are creepy furry animals who might try and get into your apartment.
I saw a mouse last year. And a friend killed a rat here, too.
