Brand new staff, but still no repairs...

When I first moved into Lynnfield, they had supposedly already replaced that staff and was headed in a great direction. A couple of months later, me and my roomates get a posted letter on our door saying that we owe them money. We had NEVER been late on any payments, in fact, payments were always there almost a week before the due date. The problem was, they had no "proof" that we ever gave them a $250.00 deposit, which was something we had to do before we were allowed to move into the apartments. They still don't believe that we paid them, which is -------- when we handed them our money with others watching. Also, when I went to give them my money for a background check ($52.50), the girl told me they only accepted cash for the background checks. However, months later I find out that the policy has ALWAYS been that only check or money order is accepted. I still have the voided check that I wrote out to them that was "not appropriate." I then had to go to the ATM and get out cash and drive back there to give them the money in order for them to do my background check. I reported back days later and was told that everything was cleared and that I was officially on the lease. However, the office has NO proof that me and another roommate gave them the money for the background check, and legally we can't prove it because we only gave them cash. When I showed them the voided check along with my bank statements showing that the check was old, they still said that it was not legal proof. The brand new staff is a little bit better and a lot more organized, however, they are STILL trying to clean up the mess from the old staff, which makes maintenance repairs along with other problems delayed weeks and up to months at a time. DO NOT BE FOOLED WHEN THEY TELL YOU THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL MAINTENANCE STAFF!
UTILITY BILLS!!!! Okay.. this last month's bill was $289.00!! Since the 2nd month (August) that we moved in, we have asked for the staff to come and clean out our ductwork among other things. The central unit is extremely outdated for 1500 sq ft, and the overall insolation is HORRIBLE! This month, we always made sure we unplugged everything, took very quick moderate warm showers, used very little water, and never used warm water when washing clothes... along with keeping laundry down as much as possible. However, after living in average temperates from 50-55... our bill this month is $289.00
We have went up there and complained once more and the staff has still not shown up. We never used the heat. Instead, we spent around $60 buying firewood and kept it burning in order to heat the house, but once the fire was out the cold temperatures returned. Even after all of the conserving, our utility bill was this expensive! When we were viewing the apartments, we wore sworn by staff members that the highest we would EVER pay for utilities, and thats if we ran EVERYTHING continuously and kept every light in the house on, it still would not run anywhere from $100-$130. So.. why is our bill $289.00
Half of our plug-ins don't work.. in fact, my roomate was extremely lucky the other day.. He and one of the maintenance guys was in his room tightening all of the wires in his plug-ins when one of them caught on fire and the outlet turned black and you could smell the electrical burn all throughout the apartment.
Also... the meters outside have naked wires and is a HUGE fire hazard. I am thinking about turning the apartment in if they dont get on the ball fixing our duct work and our central heating unit. This is ridiculous and I will NOT be resigning any leases once this one is up. As a college student, I can't afford to pay to live in these kind of conditions.

All of these statements are true... I swear to you! I have already had 2 neighbors move out just this week!

Lynnfield Place.. one of the cheaper apartments in East memphis, both in price and quality.

I advise you to pay a little more rent per month and live in a nice apartment where your utilites aren't gonna be so expensive. Our rent is $749.00, however our utilities and our cable bill(109.00) this month was a total of $402.00
Oh yeah.. we pay for phone service but only 1 phoneline works in the entire apartment, and the staff at Lynnfield was supposed to come fix it before Thanksgiving. It's in the middle of February and nobody has fixed the problem. Comcast can't do anything about it.
