We moved in Feb. 2005. The office staff has been friendly and accomodating, and any maintenance request I've had has been promptly addressed. The speed bumps are big, but they work, and that's the point.
The only complaint I have is that I hear my neighbor's loud music through the bedroom wall at night. But I still need to introduce myself and talk about it with him, so that's not really the apartment's fault.

just a follow-up from the person who wrote this review: it's been a year since we moved away, and there are several more reviews than there were when I wrote my original one. in retrospect, I stand by what I wrote. I thought I'd add more details about our stay. The price for the square footage, w/d hookups, fireplace, convenience, and location, can't be beat. The buildings and interior fixtures are a bit dated, but they do a fine job of maintaining the property, and it's a good value for the Memphis market.I still recommend it, and I'm glad I stayed there.

Poplar Place is the worst place I have ever lived. Its even worst than the student dorm I lived in at U of M. At least they responded promtly to maintenance requests at U of M. My review is under onyx1176. Check it out. Even with a so called positive review you still point out a negative, the noise which is reason enough for any normal person to be upset and move, so in my opinion this is not a positive review. Keep in mind its not only your neighbor it is also the poorly built complex. The walls are like paper. Not only do I hear music I also her my neighbor doing everyday household choirs and its very loud and annoying.
