Safety is an Issue

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004
I lived at Poplar Place for almost 2 years. it was a great place to live when I first moved in- management was freiendly (and actually my next door neighbor!) and maintenance issues were taken care of on time. Although those things did not necessarily change when the management changed, a rash of car break ins caused me to move. My car was broken into in early september of 2004. The break-ins had been occuring for over a month at that point and management was doing nothing to try deter theives from entering the property to steal. There was no security increase at all from what I could tell, although management claimed to be taking care of things. I worked at night and felt unsafe coming home in the dark. I moved as fast as I could. When I moved, I didn't even leave a safety pin on the closet floor. Management refused to do a final walk-through with me, and as a result I was charged $110 for them "performing excessive clean-up after move-out, primarily trash in closets." I would never recommend them to anyone.
