I moved here last oct. and I absolutely hate this place. I have attempted 3 times to get maintenance to come to my apartment to fix my fridge and the first time they came, said it worked, and the next day was leaking water again, they haven't been back since. Management here is horrible, I witnessed the current manager Valerie Peterson jump out of her car and yell at my former neighbors for having their dogs outside. Also, if you like roaches then you'll love it here! They're absolutely everywhere. Supposedly pest control comes around and sprays once a month but whatever they spray apparently doesn't work. The walls are incredibly thin. I've had police called on me twice for playing acoustic guitar. My counter tops in my kitchen are both beginning to fall off and the sliding doors to go onto you balcony and patio are both so hard to open they almost fall off the tracks! I would highly recommend a cardboard box over this place, you'll get the same help in there as you would here but cheaper.

onyx shut up, you must be her friend or relative because she's horrible and obviously crazy.i agree with memphislax.the place is a --------.pest control is a joke; there are roaches everywhere outside too.Maintenence never really fixed anything; they basically temporarily fix something..then it breaks a week later.Valerie is unbelievable in so many ways-she told my neighbor she had to pay $800 for being one day late with her apt key.Anytime you have an issue with anything-be wary of going to her with your problem.she loves to talk over you and gets loud and defensive right off the bat for no reason.I also think she is very dishonest and racist.Poplar Place is a slum and is being run to the ground by the management; that's why 75% of the apartments are vacant.

"Shut up"? You have serious issues because you act like you are 12 years old with that lame ass comment. How in the hell are you going to tell me to shut up when I am stating that an acoustic guitar is out of the question and is too loud to be played in an apartment. I never had a problem with Valerie being disrespectful to me. I don't blame those people I would have called the cops too. And next time post your name.
