I too live in Rivertrace apartments. One good thing I can say is that I have never had a bug problem what so ever!! However, I do feel that management is severely lacking! And we are suckered in here under false pretenses. Our pools are NEVER opened and they recently cemented over half of one pool in order to avoid making needed repairs. I have been told for the past month that they are waiting on someone from the health department to come give them the okay. However, when I called the health department they didn't know what I was talking about. How can you advertise two sparkling pools and an exercise room when you don't actually offer any of them' Their machines have been broken for the past two years and still are unless they have made recent repairs. My niece was down for the past week and looking forward to swimming while she was here, but our pools were and still are closed. I urge everyone to call the lady from Mid America who is over these apartments and voice your opinions. Also, I have called the news channel 3 Andy Wise and channel 13 problem solver guy. These apartments have been for sale since, approximately, May of 2008. They have not found one buyer and keep moving in people here. These apartments are wood and are rotting and a fair amount of the buildings here have roofs which are on the verge of caving in. There has never been any preventive maintenance here at all and they do not even spray for bugs even though everyone is charged for it. The Memphis Housing Authority is moving a lot of people here. And anyone who works and moves here does not even have a background check nor a credit or employment check being done at all. Mid America is making a great deal of money off of these apartments and are letting them become run down to the point of no return purposely. There are no perks here at all in terms of a pool or what have you. They have a mock pool by the leasing office which no one is allowed to use because it is a mock pool just for show. They have an exercise room with nothing gin it to speak of except for a desk?! They have a laundry room which has a lot of bad things being run out of it. Lastly they have a major plumbing issue on their hands with the lack of running water during the day. The place needs to be shut down and everyone needs to be given the heads up to move but Mid America is making far too much money off the backs of everyone living here to do so. These buildings have a market value of $47,000.00 a piece, I work for CB Richard Ellis and looked that up myself. Think about it, River Trace has a skeleton crew for leasing and maintenance and they have the lawn care crew...that is it. Mid America is coming out like bandits financially and their Chief Financial Officer has been lying to the press since last year as to the date of sale and the real estate closing for these apartments. I do not know what the future is for these apartments at all. I have a feeling that they will never be sold and that Mid America will collect off of them until they start collapsing. I also feel that Donna Hicks needs to be replaced because she really cannot stop lying. It is like she is mentally ill or something. She is always hyper and stuff. My greatest fear is that there will be something rather unfortunate here in terms of a fire or some of the buildings collapsing from termites and wood rot.
