I lived at Rivertrace for a brief period and had some serious problems with the management there. When I first applied, I was just starting a new job, so they didn't even check my credit or employment history, which I thought was odd. And because we were scheduled to move in the last week in April, we were told that as an incentive the end of April would be free as long as we paid for May before we moved in. So we paid the May rent, only to get a late notice in the middle of May requesting that we pay May rent, I took the receipt to the office only to have them tell me that the full months rent that I had paid on April 25 was for the last week in April and that I owed again for May. Needless to say, I was upset, so I refused to pay and got taken to court and ruled againts because the receipt I had was marked in the month of April and my lease had nothing to say about that week being free. Its just shady business practices, and I feel I was swindled and my credit is down the drain.
On top of that, right after we moved in, our neighbor told us that the unit we were occupying had been used by drug dealers before us until the police came one night and kicked the door in. And she said that the ceiling had recently collapsed due to an overflowing tub above us. And we were told none of this by management. THe last straw was that the facilities ended up being terrible. The maintenance man told us in confidence that the pools are never cleaned, and that it would be hazardous for us to go swimming there, and the entire time we were ther we couldn't use the fitness room (the machines were broken) or the laundry room (there was 2 inches of standing water on the floor all the time. Overall, I was deeply disappointed and cheated by Rivertrace
