I actually like my apartment in The Summit but there are too many other things about the complex that are just negative. I have lived here for two years and plan to move when my current lease is up. 1) They USED to have good maintenance of the property but just switched management. Now it is slow and not done properly. 2) I second the review that mentioned car damage. My car was badly damaged by another resident (who was nice enough to leave a note with phone number) but when I call he doesn't pick up or call back. The management has been less than helpful trying to get this resolved. 2) The management and neighbors complain about the stray animals but they do nothing to stem the tide of stray cats in the complex. God forbid, you try to act like a good Christian and take care of the animals. Of course, there are raccoons in the area. One of the complex's selling points is the nearby woods. Guess what, woods = wildlife! :-) 3) Definitely a high crime area. I can't count the number (way too many, of course I can count) of notices left on my door stating there has been a break in or robbery in the complex and residents should take care to avoid being a victim of crime. One way to avoid it - don't move into The Summit. Drugs are sold here and the hired rent-a-cop turns a blind eye. 4) The noise level is WAY too high, even for an apartment complex. Loud music is allowed too often and if complaints are made, they are brushed under the carpet. 5) I will admit, the worst part of living here is a particular neighbor. I don't fault the complex for that. It is not their fault she has no life and amuses herself by watching me every time I leave or enter my apartment (even at 5 am). What a freak! --- Anyway, so while I like the apartment itself (I have had no real problems with bugs and as long as I have my monitored alarm turned on, I feel moderately safe), I am getting the heck out of here when this lease is up. I gave them a second year of a lease as a second chance - they failed!
