When I first moved into these apartments, I was impressed with pretty much everything. However, not everything about this building is necessarily as it first seems. First, there's a huge difference between the top two floors and the rest of the building. The top two are very nice, well-kept, and quiet. The lower floors are loud and smell terrible. All of the apartments have a lot of potential, but I would recommend cleaning them yourself before you move in, as they are not usually as ready as most people would probably like them to be. We have been told for months that the elevators would be fixed, but as of now, there is no cover on the ceiling, leaving an unsightly green wire-covered top with a dangerous metal fan in the middle. I don't know how no one has gotten hurt by it yet. We've had many problems with the doors and windows downstairs and the automatic gates to the parking area. However, we haven't had any problems since they installed security cameras last month. The parking lot is confusing but seems safe. The balconies are awesome. Apartments have dishwashers but no washer or dryer. Lighting and wall outlets are very bad, and not everything works. Overall, the apartments are nicer, newer, and cheaper than most others in the area. Situated between Cooper-Young and Central Gardens on one side and the interstate and South Memphis on the other side, the location is convenient and relatively safe but potentially dangerous to Memphis newcomers.
