I find it interesting that those who complain do not give their names, yet the compliments don't give the names either. Without a name attached, I would not take much stock in what is being said. The good review could be management and the bad could be a lease breaker and trouble maker. What I know, having lived in this building since the late 1980's, is this: No place downtown has a better view from it's balconies than the Renaissance. No place downtown has more room on the balcony to sit and enjoy those sun setting views than the Renaissance. Does the building show some age' Absolutely. Are there problems from time to time with the elevators' Yes, but there are three elevators and rarely has all three needed repair at the same time. Does the Mayor and City Council need to rectify the problem of panhandlers and homeless who occasionally are found in the vicinity of this building, as well as most other buildings and businesses downtown' All Memphians know this is true, but generally speaking, if downtown living is your choice and renting, not owning is also your choice, there is not a better location than the Renaissance.
