I have lived here for 3 years b/c of affordability and being a broke college student. My first year was excellent. My second year incident reports were left on our doors every week during that winter reading someone was robbed entering or exiting their cars. Shortly after the winter my apartment was broken into and when I went in to report my incident, they did not post my report on doors, which made me question how many breakins we had received that we were not alerted or reported. I requested to move into an apartment with a sunroom instead of my patio door, which is how they got in, and was told there were none available and my rent would go up an additional $150! I think it is really sad that if you request an upgrade they do not offer you a special to upgrade! That's more money in their pockets! And in all honesty I have lived in Hickory Hill since 1998, when it was a nice nice neighborhood, not in the trails, but the way the neighborhood has declined they could afford to take the prices down an additional $100-$200, especially since they take Section 8 ANYWAY.I know crime is everywhere in Memphis, especially East Memphis but it is excessive over here and I can't believe I was a resident of 2 years and at that time when I reported my breakin to the manager, she acted as though she was tired of hearing of them and took my statement and sent me on my way. In all honesty our manager is not a people person, she has absolutely no personality, hardly ever smiles, does not work to reward continual residents, and I would like to meet the person who gave her the position. All the other staff are friendly. We have a security that patrols by car Mon-Thurs and some Fri and Sat. I have never seen them on a Sun and after dark they sometimes disappear. My friend says when he pulls up to our gate, sometimes security lets him in! Another thing the gate is normally broken and they take 2-3 months to fix the potholes in the street. We have 1 dumpster at the very very back of the apartments that everyone uses and we have to drive our trash to it!! If you every come by you will see how large a complex it is and how it is a shame we have 1 dumpster for over thousands of residents!! And they wonder why we have large sewer rats when it gets hot!! Unbelieveable!! We are attached to some apartments called Wyndridge, I think this is where most of our crime is birthed. I will give it to them on fixing maintenance issues, when anything breaks and the way the apartments look interior & exterior. They are gorgeous. We do have 3 pools and in the summer they do NOT check for pool passes and I feel as if I live in a community center. It has so much traffic I do not know what to say about it. I am very happy to say this is my last year of college and last year in the Trails @ Mt. Moriah. This is a short summary, there is much much more, but it is a warning!
