Renter Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
When I moved to Wesley Forest, it was a pretty new complex. It had only been built recently. The staff DOES NOT work on weekends, which should have been my first indication that this complex isn't somewhere I should consider living long term.
I had to take time off my job to visit the complex. The apartment I was shown was the apartment I was told would be the one I would rent if I was interested in renting from them. It wasn't. The apartment I was given was on the corner in a dimly lit area. If I didn't turn on my front porch light before I left, there was no light near my apartment when I came home and it was on the corner of a wooded area. Fortunately, my boyfriend was home when I would get home from work at night.
Our dishwasher and our smoke detector never worked from day one. My boyfriend and I both sent in numerous requests, both verbally and written requests. He worked nights so someone was home during the day for maintainence. It was never taken care of.
I'm not sure about the staff. There was one lady who was there consistently and then there were a lot of people who came and went. I inquired about a leasing consultant position with them, but I was always told they had just hired someone, who never stayed longer than a week.
Finally when my lease was up and I decided not to renew my lease, I was given a bad renters' recommendation from them. I was never late on my rent, even when the first fell on a weekend, there was a money order (because they wouldn't accept personal checks at least that's what I was told) waiting for them Monday morning. There were a few occassions when they tried to charge me late fees, because they misplaced the money orders but once I showed them the receipts for the money orders, they quickly found my rent checks.
All in all, Wesley Forest wasn't the worst but it definitely isn't the best. Wouldn't move back there, but it's decent for a person starting off in their first apartment. Just don't stay too long. Use it as a stepping stone.
