I am going to give the most honest review I can to help anyone looking to rent at Ashwood Cove. Like other reviews have stated when you walk into the office you think you are entering the Taj Mahal of apartment complexes. They will show you a beautiful brand new model with new appliances, fixtures, carpet, basically brand new. They spend a few million rehabbing there facilities but nothing to their apartments.
Beware of:
These complexes are 30 years old which means. A/C is not sufficient they still use systems that were used 30 years ago, R11 refrigerant. Their advertisement says there are garbage disposals in each unit and gourmet kitchen. There is no garbage disposal and the gourmet kitchen is a bait and switch advertisement. In order to get air flow to come out of the a/c vents you have to block off 3 out of the 5 vents in the apartment. The maintenance staff actually told me to do this in order for it to cool better. The overall construction of the apartment is horrible. The dry wall tape on the ceilings is coming off where the nails have backed out over the years. The Ceiling problem was not fixed. Carpets are old they should be replaced. One window in my apartment will not open because the building has settled over the years and they said there is nothing they can do about it.
Safety Concerns: My front door does not shut adequately due to the door catch not installed and unable to be installed due to damaged door frame. When dead bolted you can move it a quarter of an inch back and fourth I have to buy a separate lock and have it installed myself to fix the problem. In each apartment there is an attic entrance. This is for maintenance access which I understand. But each apartment has one and anyone can go into the attic walk over open the door and bam there in your apartment. Theft. The smoke alarm does not work.
Cost/Value: Overall these apartments are not cheap for what you get. You can spend an extra 25-50 dollars a month and get an apartment 10 yrs or newer and the same or more sq footage. They do not include any utilities. When signing the lease they said, "We pay for water". What the manager actually meant is we set the water up for you and you pay it.
Lease: Read the lease very carefully. They have one of the sternest leases I have ever encountered. They hold you responsible for absolutely everything that goes wrong inside the apartment.
Staff: Now I am not saying do not live here I just want everyone to know my experience and what to expect when renting. The office staff is amazing they are the nicest people and will do everything to make sure you are happy with your apartment. They can not help that corporate will not rehab the structures like they need to be.

That being said please think twice about renting from Ashwood Cove. I don't think it is acceptable to call it Trash wood cove like the review did before but it is definitely nothing like they advertise it. I hope this helps out anyone considering renting.
