We visited these apartments on Monday, got an approval the next day, move-in date is scheduled for May '09! The manager, Linda was extremely pleasant with us and I can't believe some of the reviews after visiting with her. I'm shocked! I can't even imagine her being rude, yelling, or hanging up on anyone! Hmmmm...I hope things continue to be the opposite for us. I would never say that that type of behavior is ever acceptable from an apartment manager...I'm just trying to think of what could've possibly set this nice little lady off''' She seems too sweet! We're moving to Murfreesboro from Illinois due to a job transfer and we're very excited to be moving back to the south...Murfreesboro seems to be a great place to call home! The only time I had ever been there prior to this visit, was back in HS for b-ball camp at MTSU. The apartments are older, but great for your money (ample space)...especially if you're moving at short notice. Not everyone's experience will be the same...as you can see in the reviews. I say, visit and gather your own opinion before skipping these apartments. We had planned on visiting Rivermont Apts. as well, but they were unfortunately hit by the recent tornado and had no openings (I talked to the apt mgr there prior to the storm and there were openings at that time). I'm really glad we found Birchwood during our quick search around town after finding out the news from Rivermont. We're very excited to call Birchwood Apartments our "soon to be" new home! :)

NOTE: My rating may show a low percentage...that's only because we won't be moving in until next month. I can't rate the complex the same way a current or past resident would. I'm basing it on my first impression and what we saw during our visit...I would give it 100% so far! Hopefully this won't change.

Linda is not going to be mean to new renters. I think that's fairly obvious. She's not going to scare away money. She was nice to me until I signed my second year lease and was stuck with her.

I've been a resident for 2 years and have not had a run in with Linda yet. Well... she got on me once for working on my car in the parking lot, but that is against the rules. When I have a complaint (a nieghbor who loves to speed through the parking lot) she was quick to take action. I personally like that in a manager. The apartment is great (though a bit dated) and the maintenance guy has fixed things the same day. Parking complaints are common for evey apartment community with assigned parking. I have and would recommend Birchwood to anyone looking for a roomy apartment at a respectable rate.
